Days 96 - 100

August 1st - August 5th

Not a lot to report for this week - we been staying in Pilgramunna and not been doing much.  We had a couple of high tides and at one point the park was under water.  It did not effect us but some of the vans on the lower level had to move cars and solar screens. We had water views without paying a premium price for them.  It was incredible to see the water about 10 foot from the van.  We did more snorkelling at Turquoise Bay but then towards the end of the week the wind got up and it was too rough to do anymore.  We went for lots of long walks along the beach.  It is amazing at times you feel that you are the only people in the world on a desert island.  On Wednesday night we had our sundowner and there were three guys in the park, one of them brought out his guitar and we had a singalong.  Then after dinner we had drinks with the whole camp, it was a late night but a good one.

On Friday we went for a drive and had a look at all the other camping spots along the Cape Range - as much as Pilgramunna is so far from Exmouth we still think it is one of the better ones.  We may come back after we have been to Point Sampson. At $10 per night it is really good value.   On our drive we missed the best photo opportunity - I forgot to put the camera in the car - and what do you think crossing the road in front of us was an Emu with her four chicks.  It was quite a sight and I was very disappointed that I did not get a photograph.

We have had really good weather the whole time we have been in Pigramunna - it has ranged between 26 and 30 degrees.  The only problem on a couple of the days was the wind and we got sand blasted a couple of times.  The van needs a good clean inside, all the tops have a sand layer on them.
