Day 111

Drove through to De Grey River (615 camps 6), another free camp about 60 kms from Port Hedland.  We picked up some supplies and filled up with diesel in South Hedland.  De Grey River would be a good spot to stop for a while if there was some water in the river, but alas it is dry.  Coming out of Port Hedland we thought we were very lucky as at the first rail crossing one of the long mine trains had just gone through and we caught the end of it.  But alas a few kilometres along the road we were stopped by another one and this time it was just the beginning, a 2 km long train we were stopped for a good give minutes. We passed a lot of huge road trains today, the length of these vehicles never ceases to amaze me.  I tried to get a photograph of one passing us - it is not the best but it gives a bit of an idea of just how long they are.
