Day 49

Well what a wet and blustery day it has been today.  It rained most of the night and biggest part of the day.  We decided to drive to Busselton anyway hoping that we would be able to walk the jetty.  By the time we got there it wasn't raining but it was blowing a gale.  We paid our $2.50 for a day pass and walked the 1.84 km to the end.  Unfortunately due to the bad weather the underwater observatory was not open and the Jetty train was not running.  The jetty is now Heritage listed and is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.  They have just refurbished it, spending a mere $27 million.  On our walk back the heavens opened and the wind blew stronger we got a little wet (we certainly got rid of any cobwebs that may have been there).   You can see by the photographs how angry the sky is.  Nevertheless we are pleased that we have seen this jetty and enjoyed the day.  We did a little shopping in Busselton then came back to the van, the ocean near the caravan park was really rough this afternoon, we can still here the waves crashing in.  I quite like the sound.

We are trying to book the caravan in for a couple of minor things, but every Jayco accredited caravan dealer in Western Australia seem to be booked out until August.  Hopefully tomorrow the dealer in Busselton will have a look at the van on our way through and see if he can help.  The pull out at the end of the bed on the left hand side is stuck, and we have a slight water leak on the mains input.
